Jon Beavers Joins Emily Deschanel in NBC’s New Crime Drama Pilot by Dean Georgaris and John Fox
Jon Beavers to Star Opposite Emily Deschanel in New Untitled Series
Actor Jon Beavers, known for his roles in Paradise and One Battle After Another, is set to join Emily Deschanel in an untitled one-hour drama. The project is crafted by writers Dean Georgaris and John Fox.
The series draws inspiration from the work of expert profiler Dr. Ann Burgess, who is also the focus of the upcoming Hulu docuseries Mastermind: To Think Like a Killer. It centers on Professor Georgia Ryan, portrayed by Deschanel, a pioneering psychologist rethinking criminology by prioritizing the victim’s perspective to uncover vital clues often overlooked by traditional methods. Alongside her team, she collaborates with the FBI to unravel some of the most challenging cases.
Beavers will take on the role of Will Andover, a former top profiler from Quantico who finds himself at a career crossroads, desperate for a significant breakthrough.
Georgaris serves as executive producer, alongside John Davis of Davis Entertainment and Fox. Deschanel is also a producer, with Burgess and Steven Constantine contributing as consulting producers. Jennifer Morrison will direct the pilot, and the project is produced by Universal Television, which has a long-standing collaboration with Georgaris and Davis Entertainment.
Currently, Beavers stars as Agent Billy Pace in Hulu’s Paradise, created by Dan Fogelman. He is also set to appear in Apple TV’s Being Heumann, featuring Mark Ruffalo. His previous television credits include roles in Sugar, The Long Road Home, Animal Kingdom, Bel-Air, and Briarpatch.
On the film front, Beavers has appeared in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another and has roles in Kevin Costner’s Horizon: Chapter 1 and Horizon: Chapter 2, as well as Licorice Pizza and Soft & Quiet. He is represented by Artium Talent, Untitled Entertainment, and Gang, Tyre, Ramer.
