Firefighters Help Woman Who Climbed onto Roof to Escape South LA Blaze
Firefighters Rescue Woman from Roof in South Los Angeles Fire
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, firefighters successfully rescued a woman who had crawled out of a second-floor window to escape a fire at a residence in South Los Angeles. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. near West 43rd Street and Broadway, where reports indicated individuals were trapped and smoke was billowing from the upper floor of a fourplex.
Video footage captured the woman lying facedown on a segment of rooftop, clinging precariously to the edge. Firefighters quickly responded to the scene and raised a ladder to assist her down to safety.
While one person was taken to the hospital, information regarding their condition has not yet been disclosed.
Fire crews worked diligently to ventilate the roof and extinguish the fire, which they managed to contain in approximately 39 minutes. Firefighters continued to remain on-site well into the late morning hours.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with details not immediately available.
