Marcello Hernández to Debut Stand-Up Comedy Special on Netflix
Marcello Hernández, a notable talent from Saturday Night Live, has announced the release of his first stand-up comedy special, set to air on Netflix.
Titled American Boy, the hour-long special will begin streaming on January 7. Written by Hernández, the special was filmed in front of an enthusiastic audience in his hometown of Miami. In this performance, Hernández humorously explores his experiences growing up as a first-generation American.
Directed by Nicholaus Goossen, the special is executive produced by Hernández and Matthew Vaughan, with production handled by Rotten Science.
Since joining SNL as a featured player in 2023, Hernández has expanded his presence in the entertainment industry. He recently lent his voice to Fergus, the son of Shrek and Fiona, in the upcoming Shrek 5, and is cast in The Angry Birds Movie 3, which is slated for release in 2026. Currently, he can be seen in Happy Gilmore 2, and this summer, he will co-star alongside Kevin Hart in Netflix’s comedy 72 Hours.
