Rebecca Gayheart Expresses Gratitude to Supporters Following Eric Dane’s Passing
The entertainment world is mourning the loss of actor Eric Dane, who passed away at the age of 53. His family expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans and friends during this difficult time.
Dane’s widow, Rebecca Gayheart, publicly thanked supporters through her Instagram Story on Saturday, stating they were “truly holding us up” following his death on Thursday, which came after a prolonged battle with ALS.
“I am so blown away by the outpouring of love and support from our community,” Gayheart wrote. “There aren’t words to express our gratitude. You are truly holding us up during this difficult time.”
In a show of solidarity, friends of the Euphoria star initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support their two daughters, Billie and Georgia. The campaign has exceeded its original goal of $250,000, receiving contributions from notable figures including Sam Levinson, Hailey Bieber, Alyssa Milano, Brad Falchuk, and Randall Emmett.
Dane’s family announced his passing on Thursday, following his ALS diagnosis disclosed last April. “With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS,” the family stated. “He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world.”
The family further reflected, “Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time.”
