Meta and XRTV Announce Cast for New Immersive Horror Series Inspired by ‘Talk to Me’
Meta and XRTV have finalized the main cast for their upcoming immersive 3D horror series, which draws inspiration from the acclaimed A24 film, Talk to Me. The ensemble includes Aubri Ibrag of The Buccaneers, Charlotte Maggi from Rebel Moon, Sofia Hublitz known for Ozark, and Julio Peña, who appeared in Berlin. Additionally, Charlie Hiscock from Ted Lasso and Raff Law of Masters of the Air will join in recurring roles.
Currently untitled, this new series is designed specifically for Meta’s virtual reality devices, allowing viewers to engage with the story in an unprecedented manner, heightening the horror experience.
Set against the backdrop of a thrill-seeking weekend in Ibiza, the narrative explores the consequences of supernatural encounters through a fresh group of characters. Estranged friends Lauryn (Ibrag) and Keeley (Maggi) reunite with socialite Blake (Hublitz), complemented by two British friends (Hiscock and Law) who provide party drugs sourced from a local dealer (Peña). What begins as a reckless getaway takes a terrifying turn as the group encounters an extraordinary high.
Production is currently underway in Spain, with Craig William Macneill, known for Them and The Terror, directing all six episodes. The series was penned by Trent Atherton, with Darren Brandl from The Girl in the Woods serving as showrunner and executive producer. Other executive producers include Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton, known for Talk to Me and The Babadook, alongside original film directors Danny and Michael Philippou for Blue Bear, as well as Andreas Michael Wentz and Juan Antonio Cano Trujillo for Sur Film. Jack Davis is also an executive producer for XRTV, with Jeff Rich producing for Meta.
Casting responsibilities were handled by Mary Vernieu and Bret Howe, while Nicola Chisholm led the UK casting efforts.

The film made waves at Sundance and became a commercial success, garnering over $90 million in worldwide box office revenue, making it A24’s highest-grossing horror release and establishing the Philippous as emerging figures in the genre. A sequel is currently in development.
