Thousands Gather in Downtown LA to Support Change in Iran’s Government
Thousands Rally in Downtown Los Angeles for Iranian Regime Change
LOS ANGELES – On Saturday, thousands of protesters gathered in downtown Los Angeles as part of the Iranian Global Day of Action, a worldwide demonstration aimed at supporting the Iranian people and urging an end to recent violence in Iran.
Participants traveled from across the nation, united in their call for change and solidarity. "We said let’s get together, such a big place and see if people can hear our voice," stated Hassan Noorvand, one of the demonstrators.
The protests in Iran, which originated in late December, were partly fueled by the steep decline of the Iranian currency. According to the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency, over 7,000 individuals have been killed as a result of the Iranian government’s crackdown on dissent. There are concerns that this number may rise further.
Many at the Los Angeles rally voiced their support for a new regime in Iran. "We are ready to move on and support Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi as our leader; he asked us to get together in different cities all over the world," Noorvand added.
Former President Donald Trump has remarked that regime change would be the "best thing" for Iran, and the current administration is considering potential military actions in response to the ongoing crisis.
Amid these global tensions, demonstrators found encouragement in the substantial turnout on Saturday. "I always support Prince Reza Pahlavi, but I never thought he would have this much support. I’m really impressed and I’m really hopeful," one participant expressed.
Similar gatherings occurred in other major cities, including Toronto and Munich, amplifying the call for change during the Iranian Global Day of Action.
