Driver Arrested After Beachside Chase in Huntington Beach
Police apprehended a driver following a brief pursuit that culminated along the beach in Huntington Beach late Sunday night. The chase began around 10 p.m. when an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation, only to discover that the car had been reported stolen.
The pursuit progressed onto the Pacific Coast Highway, where officers deployed spike strips to disable the vehicle’s tires. Following a successful PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique) maneuver, one passenger was taken into custody, while the driver fled toward the beach and ventured into the ocean.
