Brief Shelter-in-Place at Yorba Linda High School

Yorba Linda High School was placed on a shelter-in-place order for approximately one hour on Wednesday as the Orange County Sheriff’s Department conducted an investigation into "suspicious circumstances."

The nature of the circumstances prompting the investigation was not disclosed by authorities. However, by 11:26 a.m., the investigation concluded and the shelter-in-place order was lifted, allowing classes to resume as scheduled.

"Deputies have cleared the campus, and the shelter-in-place has been lifted at Yorba Linda High School," the sheriff’s department confirmed via social media.

In response to the incident, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department is increasing law enforcement presence around the school for the remainder of the day to ensure student safety.
