### Gwyneth Paltrow Offers Insights on Managing Anxiety
Gwyneth Paltrow recently shared her personal strategies for managing anxiety during an Instagram AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on January 21. The actress provided candid responses to various audience inquiries, shedding light on her mental health journey.
In the session, Paltrow reflected on her approach to anxiety management, acknowledging its unavoidable presence in her life. She emphasized the importance of gratitude, stating, “I can’t really avoid anxiety, but I try to temper it with remembering things I am grateful for, breathing deeply, going for a walk, and shouting at the bushes (it helps) and being good to myself.”
When asked about avoiding “overfunctioning and burnout,” Paltrow was open about her struggles. “I have avoided neither,” she admitted. “I’m over-functioned and burnt out, but I’m trying to get a little bit better this year at that and really prioritizing sleep and boundaries around working and not working, but I have some work to do.”

Paltrow, who has previously discussed her mental health, highlighted how the pressures of fame have impacted her well-being. She noted, “I’ve lived a very intense life in the public eye for a really, really long time… I’m very sensitive, as most of us are — so I feel that and it kind of frays my nervous system.”
In a November 2025 episode of her podcast, she expressed that she believes she has “a bit of ADD and I can really sort of get pulled in lots of directions.” She described the challenges of her profession, stating that receiving a negative email can feel like a personal affront.
Acknowledging the combination of hormonal changes and stressful life experiences, Paltrow articulated, “I think also my hormonal phase of life, I have a lot of anxiety for the very first time in my life… So part of it is physiological, part of it is psychological, part of it’s emotional and part of it’s public life.”
In her ongoing efforts to manage her mental health, Paltrow is working with therapists, including a specialist in nerve health. She credits her family, including her children and husband, with providing crucial support during challenging times.
