Anthony Davis Stars in New Series Order for TBS: Here’s What to Expect
Anthony Davis’ Prank Show ‘Foul Play’ Secures Full Season Order on TBS
TBS has officially ordered a full season of Foul Play with Anthony Davis, following a successful launch of a special earlier this year. The network will air 16 half-hour episodes, with the series set to premiere on Monday, April 6, right after the NCAA National Championship game.
This marks TBS’s first series order since the reboot of The Joe Schmo Show in January. Foul Play joins a select group of original programming for the network, which also saw the twelfth season of Impractical Jokers debut in July.
In Foul Play, Davis invites elite professional athletes to attempt elaborate pranks, offering them the opportunity to score laughs—or face the consequences of a failed stunt. Unlike typical prank shows, the series will provide viewers with an inside look at both the planning and potential pitfalls of executing these comedic schemes.
Davis, who was traded from the LA Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks, has had a notable year in the NBA. The special episode featured prominent athletes including World Series Champion Mookie Betts, WNBA star Cameron Brink, and Dallas Mavericks point guard D’Angelo Russell, attracting an impressive average of 3 million viewers and marking the highest debut in its timeslot in over five years.
Produced by Grandma’s House Entertainment—known for three seasons of The Misery Index—alongside Bad Woods Entertainment and UTA’s 4.4.Forty Media, the show aligns with TBS’s strategy of sports-oriented programming featuring prominent figures.
“The goal is to create a uniquely fun viewing experience,” commented a TBS spokesperson. "Anthony Davis brings the same precision and swagger to comedy that he does to the court. We’re excited for our viewers to enjoy the same fun that Anthony and the other athletes had while filming.”
Grandma’s House Entertainment and the Impractical Jokers team are represented by UTA, while Davis is represented through UTA-backed Klutch Sports.
