Candace Cameron Bure on Facing Challenges in Her Marriage and Finding the Courage to Speak Up
Candace Cameron Bure Reflects on Marriage Challenges
In a recent episode of her podcast, Candace Cameron Bure opened up about the complexities of her 30-year marriage to Valeri Bure. During a conversation with cohost Madi Prewett, she described their relationship as a "roller-coaster" with many ups and downs.
Cameron Bure, 49, shared that their marriage has seen "lots of highs and there’s been some really low lows." She articulated feelings of being "stuck" during difficult periods, emphasizing the importance of honesty in facing challenges together. "You’re just kind of sitting in the shallow of the valley… We’ll just kind of go through it," she noted, reflecting on the inevitability of life’s struggles.
She elaborated on the often difficult conversations couples must have, acknowledging that fear of hurting one another can lead to "stuck moments." Cameron Bure stated she has felt a "nagging feeling" when something isn’t quite right in her life, expressing a desire for change but uncertainty about where to begin, particularly as a mother to three children.
Her podcast audience is familiar with her candid discussions about her marriage and personal life. She previously revealed how her son, Lev, played a pivotal role in helping both her and Val navigate through rough patches. Cameron Bure recalled a moment when Lev addressed their struggles, delivering a sermon on marriage from the couch, despite his youth.
"He was such a calm voice that had so much wisdom behind it," she said, highlighting Lev’s impact on their family dynamics. Lev, who married Elliott Dunham in early 2024, has continued to engage in ministry, contributing wisdom that resonates with his parents, as demonstrated by Cameron Bure’s supportive reactions during one of his recent sermons.
Cameron Bure’s insights serve as a reminder that even in the face of marriage’s complexities, open communication and familial support can foster resilience and growth.
