David Harbour Exits Upcoming Film Behemoth!
David Harbour has withdrawn from his role in the film Behemoth!, which he was set to co-star in alongside Olivia Wilde and Pedro Pascal. This decision comes after Harbour had already filmed some scenes for the project.
Representatives for Searchlight Pictures confirmed the news on January 7, stating that Harbour, 50, has stepped back from the film. According to Variety, sources indicate that the actor decided to take a break following an intense promotional period for the final season of Stranger Things, which aired its finale on December 31.
Harbour’s representatives have yet to provide an official comment regarding his exit. Reports suggest that his role in Behemoth! will be recast, although a replacement has not yet been named. Described as a "love letter to the music of the movies," the film centers around a musician from a family of musicians returning to Los Angeles.
On December 10, Harbour and Wilde were seen filming scenes for the movie in Los Angeles.

Behemoth! is directed by Tony Gilroy, known for his work on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the Disney+ series Andor. In his past, Gilroy directed acclaimed films such as Michael Clayton and The Bourne Legacy, and he has also written multiple entries in the Bourne series.
Deadline reported that Harbour joined the Behemoth! cast back in October, when it was announced that the film would follow a cellist. The specifics of Harbour’s role remain unclear, but his involvement in the project was confirmed through earlier filming activities.
Harbour recently experienced a scheduling conflict that prevented him from attending a celebration event for Stranger Things in New York City on December 18.
The actor has been candid about his struggles with mental health and a bipolar disorder diagnosis he received in his 20s. Beyond his noteworthy role as Jim Hopper in Stranger Things, he has recently appeared in films such as A Working Man and the Marvel title Thunderbolts, where he reprised his role as Alexei Shostakovich/Red Guardian. Harbour is set to reprise this character in both Avengers: Doomsday and Violent Night 2, both of which are scheduled for release in December.
