Hugh Jackman was in high spirits at the 2025 Gotham Awards, with his new romance likely contributing to his joyous demeanor. The actor was joined on the red carpet by his girlfriend, Sutton Foster.
Jackman, 57, donned a classic black suit while Foster, 50, complemented him in a shimmering black sequin slip dress paired with sparkling high heels. Her hair was styled in a low bun, accentuated by dazzling earrings as they attended the prestigious event in New York City.
Jackman stars in the biographical musical Song Sung Blue alongside Kate Hudson, portraying characters Mike and Claire Sardina, who are members of a Neil Diamond tribute band called Lightning & Thunder. Both actors were honored with the inaugural Gotham Musical Tribute at the ceremony. Jeffrey Sharp, Executive Director of The Gotham Film & Media Institute, praised their performances, stating: “Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman deliver performances in Song Sung Blue that are at once powerful, intimate, and deeply human. Foster has been a steady source of support for Jackman during his promotional tour for Song Sung Blue. The couple made their red carpet debut at the film’s Los Angeles premiere on October 26, where they appeared together in coordinating black outfits, radiating joy.
In November, Jackman took to Instagram to confirm their relationship, sharing a clip and a photo of Foster performing at New York City’s Café Carlyle. His caption read, “@suttonlenore performing during the holidays at @cafecarlyle … now that’s an iconic NYC night! And, truly magical.”
Jackman and Foster previously starred together in Broadway’s The Music Man from 2021 to 2023. Jackman announced his separation from Deborra-Lee Furness after 27 years of marriage in September 2023, with their divorce finalized in June. Meanwhile, Foster filed for divorce from her husband, Ted Griffin, in October 2024, just days before their 10th wedding anniversary, and their divorce proceedings are ongoing.
