Saying Goodbye to The IME iRadio Station

If you’ve ever taken a risk—started something from scratch, put your name on the line, and tried to build something that didn’t exist before—you know how it feels to hope. And you know how it feels when that hope doesn’t pan out. This is the story of IME iRadio Station, a dream that lived online, played your favorite tracks, and, for a brief window, tried its best to matter.
Let’s be honest: launching a radio station in the era of streaming giants is a little like opening a neighborhood coffee shop next to Starbucks. But we believed that indie music deserved a bigger stage. We believed that a handful of people with the right mix of passion, spreadsheets, and sleep deprivation could create something different. That belief carried us through long nights, tight budgets, and the kind of technical headaches that only indie projects truly understand.
IME iRadio was our second attempt. We’d learned from our first, came prepared with a better business plan, and hit “go” with a surge of optimism. Our promise was simple: the best indie and top 40 tracks from around the globe, curated for listeners who were tired of algorithms and wanted something that felt handpicked.
But sometimes, even when you do everything “right,” the universe has other plans. We hustled for six months—reviewing, tweaking, hoping each new playlist would find its audience. The reality? Indie music licensing is a maze, and building a loyal audience is harder than any spreadsheet can predict. Our numbers didn’t hit the targets. And rising costs made it clear: we couldn’t keep the lights on.
There’s a temptation, in moments like these, to look for someone or something to blame. We’re not doing that. The truth is, sometimes small businesses don’t make it, no matter how much sweat you pour in. That’s not failure—it’s part of the experiment.
What lasts, though, is gratitude. To every friend who shared a link, every supporter who bought a t-shirt or a sticker (yes, those exist), and every listener who tuned in, even once: you made this real. You reminded us that connection matters, even if it’s fleeting. If you have an IME pen rattling around somewhere, let it be a tiny monument to what we built—proof that we tried, and that for a little while, it worked.
We aren’t vanishing. The IME team is still out there, dreaming up new projects and chasing big ideas. You can find us on YouTube, still sharing music, and there’s more in the pipeline—fresh perspectives, new goals, and the same stubborn optimism.
Every setback is a lesson. We’re taking those lessons with us as we turn the page and step into the new year. Thank you, sincerely, for listening. For believing. For being part of this.
Onward and upward to God Be The Glory
