Starz Shares Exciting Teaser for the Final Season of ‘Outlander’
Starz is marking the conclusion of its 12 Days of Outlander Holiday Celebration with a final gift to fans: a new teaser for the eighth and final season, set to premiere on March 6. The teaser, available for viewing above, builds excitement as it hints at the challenges ahead for the beloved characters.
New episodes will be released weekly on Fridays through the Starz app and its various streaming and on-demand platforms. Viewers can currently catch up on the first seven seasons of this epic tale of love spanning time.
The teaser features a troubled Jamie, who forebodes, “nothing can prepare you for how it ends.” With the show’s history of dramatic twists, fans are urged to remain cautiously hopeful that love will ultimately triumph. Yet, as this is the final season, the unpredictability is palpable.
As Season 8 unfolds, Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitríona Balfe) discover that the war has invaded their sanctuary at Fraser’s Ridge, a community that has flourished in their absence. Confronted by newcomers and significant changes, the Frasers grapple with the extent to which they will go to protect their home and their bond.
While the Frasers present a united front against external threats, long-buried family secrets may jeopardize their unity from within. Although they have distanced themselves from the American Revolution, their struggle to secure Fraser’s Ridge is just beginning.
In the previous season, the Frasers found themselves deeply embroiled in the American Revolutionary War. The season concluded with Jamie deciding to resign from his Continental Army commission and return to Fraser’s Ridge with Claire. Meanwhile, the MacKenzies faced pivotal choices regarding their future, leaving viewers in suspense about the fate of Claire and Jamie’s first daughter, Faith.
All episodes from the first seven seasons are currently available for streaming on Starz.
In addition to Balfe and Heughan, the cast features Sophie Skelton as Brianna MacKenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie, John Bell as Young Ian Murray, David Berry as Lord John Grey, Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom, and Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Murray.
