Zendaya Highlights How Many Fell for AI-Generated Wedding Photos of Tom Holland
Zendaya Reveals Viral AI Wedding Photos Misled Friends and Family
Actress Zendaya recently shared that several people in her personal circle were misled by AI-generated photos circulating online, which falsely claimed to depict her wedding day with fellow actor Tom Holland.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Zendaya spoke about the widespread excitement and confusion surrounding the images. She noted that friends expressed resentment over not receiving an invitation to the nonexistent ceremony. Kimmel remarked that the internet reaction was overwhelming, with the photos appearing "very realistic."
“Many people have been fooled by them,” Zendaya said. “While I was, like, just out and about in real life, people were saying, ‘Oh my god, your wedding photos are gorgeous.’ And I was like, ‘Babe, they’re AI.’”
Kimmel responded with surprise, prompting Zendaya to confirm that her friends indeed got upset about supposedly being left out of the wedding festivities.
The artificial images were created by Juan Regueira Rodríguez, a digital creator who shared them on March 3. The post quickly garnered attention, racking up 12 million likes and 17,000 comments.
In the same interview, Zendaya expressed her enthusiasm regarding the upcoming Spider-Man film Brand New Day, which is set to be released on July 31 and features her alongside Holland. She reflected on their shared journey, saying, “It’s such a huge part of our story, obviously, and we grew up making those films. And it’s such a privilege to be able to do them. I know Tom cares so much about the role and doing it justice.”
