Zayn Postpones Konnakol Tour Dates, Focused on Recovery at Home
Zayn Cancels U.S. Leg of Konnakol Tour Amid Health Concerns
In a significant update, Zayn has announced the cancellation of 21 shows on his upcoming Konnakol Tour, which includes the entire U.S. leg. This announcement was made via an Instagram Story on Friday, May 1.
The former One Direction member explained the decision, stating, "I’ve had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the Konnakol Tour. I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can. I’m really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon."
Zayn’s health has been a concern recently; he was hospitalized on the day of his album’s release, April 17. He shared a photo of himself in a hospital gown and expressed gratitude for the medical staff who aided in his recovery from an unspecified ailment. He echoed these thanks in his Instagram, saying, "Thank you so much for all the support and love you’ve shown me on the album release and, more importantly, your love, prayers and well wishes for my health. I’ve felt it, and it’s meant the world. I’ve been at home recovering and I’m doing well and will be better and stronger than ever before."
Zayn initially unveiled a 31-date Konnakol Tour on February 5. With the recent cancellations, the only shows now slated are one rescheduled date and the remaining international performances. The Manchester show at AO Arena is set for May 24, and the official website indicates that “all current tickets will remain valid for the new Manchester date,” while refunds will be processed for non-rescheduled shows.
The album Konnakol debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard 200, marking his third-highest-charting LP to date.
