Zach Garrett Takes the Lead as Head of Film at AGC Studios
AGC Studios has announced the promotion of Zach Garrett to Head of Film, a significant step in the company’s strategic leadership as it continues to expand its film portfolio.
In his new role, Garrett will be responsible for overseeing AGC’s film strategy and slate development, which includes sourcing and developing new projects, nurturing talent relationships, managing all feature productions, and overseeing post-production processes.
Garrett has been with AGC Studios since 2018, initially joining as Vice President of Acquisitions. Since 2024, he has served as Executive Vice President of Production, where he played a pivotal role in bringing various high-profile projects to fruition. His production credits include Richard Linklater’s Hit Man, Anna Kendrick’s Woman of the Hour, Justin Kurzel’s The Order, and Ron Howard’s Eden, along with the recently completed film Babies, directed by Lauren Miller Rogen.
Looking ahead, Garrett will oversee the production of Fleur, directed by Ellie Foumbi and starring Halle Berry, as well as Phantom Son, directed by David Yates and featuring Renée Zellweger.
Stuart Ford, head of AGC, expressed his confidence in Garrett’s abilities, stating, “Zach’s well-merited rise up through the ranks at AGC since we launched the company has been a fantastic success story and is a testament to our culture of fast tracking the careers of high-caliber, ambitious executives.” He added, “Zach has evolved into a dynamic, savvy, and immensely capable right hand to me in growing the film side of AGC’s business, and I’m excited to keep further building our film slate and our talent relationships with him in the coming years.”
In response to his promotion, Garrett said, “I’ve had the privilege of working with AGC’s leadership—people who combine sharp instincts with real persistence to bring projects to life. I’ve also been fortunate to collaborate with extraordinary filmmakers, producers, and crews, and I’m proud of the films we’ve made. I’m grateful for all of it, and excited for what’s next.”
