While Bad Bunny performed at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA organized an alternative halftime show featuring Kid Rock, along with country artists Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, and Gabby Barrett, branding it the “All-American Halftime Show.”
As audiences commented on Bad Bunny’s performance compared to the Kid Rock-led show, several artists also expressed their opinions. Billboard 200 chart-topper Zach Bryan shared an Instagram reel showing someone watching the Turning Point USA halftime show on their phone while attempting to shield themselves from the official Super Bowl performance featuring Bad Bunny.
“What Kid Rock actually thinks is happening across America,” Bryan captioned the video.
On X, eight-time Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves commended Bad Bunny’s performance and took a jab at Kid Rock, stating, “Well. That made me feel more proudly American than anything Kid Rock has ever done.”
Country singer Rissi Palmer expressed her inspiration from Bad Bunny’s performance on Instagram, quoting him: “‘My name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio. And if today I’m here at the Super Bowl, it’s because I never, never stopped believing in myself.’” Palmer emphasized the significance of Bad Bunny’s journey, highlighting the emotional and inclusive nature of his message. “If you can’t appreciate that, you are a straight up hater,” she remarked.
On Turning Point USA’s YouTube page, viewers filled the comments section with American flag emojis, heartfelt responses, and tributes to the late founder Charlie Kirk, proclaiming, “God Bless America.”
In contrast, some commenters echoed Bad Bunny’s impactful words from his Grammy acceptance speech: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”
This year’s Super Bowl concluded with the Seattle Seahawks defeating the New England Patriots 29-13.
