Yerin Ha Named Ambassador for SAG-AFTRA’s 32nd Annual Actor Awards
Yerin Ha, the Korean-Australian actress known for her role as Sophie Baek in Season 4 of Netflix’s Bridgerton, has been appointed as the Ambassador for The 32nd Annual Actor Awards Presented by SAG-AFTRA, as announced by the awards producers.
The Actor Awards, previously known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, will be streamed live on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 1, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Kristen Bell will host the event, during which Harrison Ford will receive the esteemed Life Achievement Award.
Ha was chosen as Ambassador for her exemplary values in the acting profession, her status as a positive role model for aspiring performers, and her active advocacy for humanitarian and public service causes. In her role, Ha will attend the Actors Rising event, a special evening celebrating emerging talent in the industry.
Additionally, Ha will offer exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the award ceremony and participate in select pre-show events, while also raising awareness for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. Previous Ambassadors include notable figures such as Sofia Carson, Noah Centineo, and Yara Shahidi.
“Being named The Actor Awards Ambassador is such an honor because this ceremony is about actors celebrating actors,” Ha stated. “There is something uniquely powerful about being recognized within your own community. As someone who cares so deeply about the craft and about collaboration, it means so much to represent the next generation of actors and be part of an event that uplifts storytelling.”
Ha is notably the first East Asian actress to take a leading role in Bridgerton. Her previous television credits include Netflix’s The Survivors, HBO’s Dune: Prophecy, and Paramount+’s Halo. Recently, she made her UK theater debut in Jean Genet’s The Maids at London’s Donmar Warehouse, following her work at the Sydney Theatre Company in Lord of the Flies.
Silent House Productions will produce the annual ceremony for the third consecutive year.
