Xander Schauffele Makes Par After Ball Lands in Fan’s Bag at the Masters, Thanks to a Kind Gesture
In an unexpected turn during Thursday’s opening round, golfer Xander Schauffele’s tee shot on Hole 8 found its way into a spectator’s shopping bag, avoiding the pine straw and a challenging recovery.
Schauffele retrieved the ball without incurring any penalty and attributed this fortunate occurrence to salvaging his performance on the hole. He concluded the day with a score of 2-under 70.
This incident adds to the list of strange moments at the Masters, reminiscent of Louis Oosthuizen’s remarkable hole-in-one in 2016, which was achieved off J.B. Holmes’ ball.
