Wynonna Judd Celebrates the Holiday Season with Granddaughter Kaliyah
Country music star Wynonna Judd shared a heartwarming glimpse of her holiday season, featuring her granddaughter Kaliyah, age 3.
The 61-year-old singer posted several rare photos on her Instagram, documenting joyful moments spent with her granddaughter, who is the daughter of Judd’s child, Grace Kelley. One notable image captured Kaliyah drawing a Christmas tree in vibrant colors.
Another charming photo showcased Kaliyah in a matching purple outfit next to a horse adorned with a festive Santa hat and an ivy wreath. "‘Tis the season! Miss you all. ❤️," Judd captioned the post, conveying her festive spirit.
Judd became a grandmother when Kelley welcomed Kaliyah in March 2022. Recently, Judd has taken on a more prominent caregiving role for Kaliyah while navigating challenges in her family’s life. After Kelley’s multiple arrests, which followed her struggles with sobriety, Judd stepped in to raise her granddaughter.
In a January appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends, Judd shared insights into her life as a caregiver. “I don’t have a computer. I don’t watch television unless it’s planned because I’m raising my 2½-year-old granddaughter, I listen to her,” she explained.
When asked if she watches any children’s television shows with Kaliyah, Judd noted the toddler’s lack of interest in popular programs like Bluey. However, Kaliyah enjoys Ms. Rachel, which led Judd to laugh, “I’m about to lose my mind,” reflecting on the joys and challenges of watching children’s programming.
In a candid moment during a May interview on Circle Country, Judd opened up about her grief following the loss of her mother, Naomi Judd. She emphasized that her relationship with Kaliyah has brought light during a challenging time. “I’m learning that there is life after death," Judd said.
As she reflects on her evolving family dynamics, Judd recognizes the personal growth she has experienced since becoming a grandmother. “I have to decide whether the cup is half full or half empty,” she added, highlighting her journey of resilience and hope.
