Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Beverly Grove
Los Angeles police have detained a suspect following a shooting incident that left a woman dead in Beverly Grove on Sunday morning. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire at a residence along La Peer Drive around 8:45 a.m.
On arrival, officers discovered a woman in her 40s suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, according to the Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD).
A male in his 30s was taken into custody at the scene. The nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victim has not yet been disclosed by authorities.
Later in the afternoon, around 2 p.m., police investigators were observed examining a black Lamborghini SUV parked in the driveway of the residence. Evidence was collected, including a black rifle case that detectives removed from the vehicle and a second case that was photographed with an evidence marker.
In a related development, police confirmed that a dog was also shot and killed during the incident.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
