WME Welcomes Filmmaker JT Mollner to Its Roster
Filmmaker JT Mollner Signs with WME for Representation
JT Mollner, the creative mind behind the film Strange Darling, has officially signed with WME for representation across all professional areas. This development has garnered attention within the industry.
Mollner wrote and directed Strange Darling, which features performances from Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner. The film opened in theaters in August 2024 and received a remarkable 96% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. It has since earned notable accolades, including Best Thriller at the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films’ Saturn Awards and the Grand People’s Choice Award at the Sitges Festival. Mollner was also awarded Best Director at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
Mollner’s future projects include an adaptation of Stephen King’s The Long Walk for Lionsgate, with plans to collaborate once again on another King story, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, where he will serve both as director and adapter. Additionally, he is set to direct Brie Larson in the J.J. Abrams-produced creature feature Skeletons, and will helm the pilot for A24’s television adaptation of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Mollner first caught industry attention with his debut feature Outlaws and Angels, a revisionist Western that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2016. This film was noteworthy for being shot in 35MM, despite its ultra-low budget.
Although he has now partnered with WME, Mollner continues to be represented by World Builder Entertainment and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
