WME Group-Backed Pantheon Media Group is Seeking New Investment Opportunities
Pantheon Media Group Seeks New Investment Amid Growing Production Output
Pantheon Media Group, the parent company of notable series including Netflix’s Sean Combs: The Reckoning and the upcoming BTS: The Comeback Live special, is actively seeking investment as it enhances its production efforts.
Over the past year, the company, which encompasses production entities such as Done+ Dusted and Texas Crew Productions, has significantly increased its output. Established by Hamish Hamilton, Done+ Dusted has directed many high-profile live events, including Super Bowl halftime shows. The company recently secured investment in 2024, contributing to its projects like Netflix’s BTS special and Nikki Glaser’s upcoming Hulu comedy special Good Girl.
Austin-based Texas Crew Productions has also made a mark, producing Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which became one of Netflix’s leading unscripted hits last year alongside 50 Cent. Additionally, they are behind the Peacock true-crime series The Gilgo Beach Killer.
Pantheon Media Group has formed several joint ventures, among them Breaklight Pictures, which is producing Apple’s Cowboy Cartel, and Big City Television, known for History’s Greatest Mysteries with Laurence Fishburne. The company also collaborates with Peter Berg’s Film45 and has a deal with Tyler Perry Studios to develop unscripted programming.
In addition to its U.S. operations, Pantheon has a robust presence in the UK. Soho Studios, founded by Ian Lamarra, recently secured its first U.S. commission with A&E for Predator Hunters. The company also supports ventures like Moon&Back Media, created by seasoned UK executives Dawn Airey, Nigel Hall, and Russ Lindsay, and Ladywell Films, formed by producers of Tinder Swindler.
In 2023, WME Group established a non-scripted content division led by Rebecca Sanhueza, also President of WME Fashion. This division later invested in Velvet Hammer Media—a company founded by former HBO Max executives Jennifer O’Connell and Rebecca Quinn, known for Netflix’s upcoming dating series Age of Attraction.
Originally known as Asylum Entertainment Group, Pantheon Media Group was founded by Michaels in 2003. Following a sale to Legendary Entertainment in 2014 for over $150 million, Michaels repurchased the company in 2018 and reinstated the original brand name in 2019. It underwent rebranding to Pantheon in December 2024, with O’Connell stepping in as CEO and Michaels transitioning to Chairman.
