Will Forte and Tiffany Haddish Team Up with Eric André in Upcoming Action-Comedy ‘Synergy Systems’ at Cannes Market
EXCLUSIVE: Will Forte and Tiffany Haddish are set to join Eric André in the upcoming action-comedy film, Synergy Systems. The project, which was first reported in March, is being showcased at the Cannes market by Cinetic Media and WME Independent.
Synergy Systems marks the directorial debut of Toby Harvard, who is also the writer behind the script. The film is described as a punk, action-packed thriller set in the near future. It follows Bemis, played by André, a data analyst plagued by indecision, who discovers that his workplace, Synergy Systems, is involved in an apocalyptic conspiracy. Suddenly, he must become an unlikely hero in the battle for humanity, despite being remarkably ill-equipped for the task.
Steven Demmler, a producer from Talon Entertainment, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “When I read Toby Harvard’s wonderfully insane screenplay and imagined Will Forte as ‘Narcissus’ and Tiffany Haddish as ‘RealTalk,’ I laughed so hard I peed. Just a little… a lot of times. That is cinema.”
In addition to Demmler, producers include Dane Eckerle of Bad Grey, known for films such as I Love My Dad and Mermaid, as well as Iconoclast. Anthony F. Panza from Talon Entertainment is serving as executive producer.
Will Forte’s upcoming projects include the second season of Netflix’s The Four Seasons, premiering on May 28, and Nate Bargatze’s film The Breadwinner, set to release on May 29. He will also star in Coyote vs. Acme, which is scheduled for release on August 28 after being shelved for three years at Warner Bros. Forte is represented by UTA, Rise Management, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
Tiffany Haddish, recognized for her role in Girls Trip, has also been seen in Apple TV+’s The Afterparty and Bad Boys: Ride or Die. She is represented by Cade Hudson at Hudson Management, CAA, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
