This week sees the return of a 16-time Grammy winner with his first solo album in a decade, alongside five new tracks from one of the world’s leading K-pop groups. Bruno Mars heads the lineup with The Romantic, the anticipated follow-up to 2016’s 24K Magic.
The album features nine tracks infused with soul, including Mars’ chart-topping single “I Just Might,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Additional highlights include the smooth bossa nova track “Cha Cha Cha” and the slow R&B jams “God Was Showing Off” and “Why You Wanna Fight?”
Also making a comeback is BLACKPINK, the renowned K-pop supergroup that includes breakout stars JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ, and LISA. The group returns with a five-track mini EP titled DEADLINE, primarily in English. The album features the energetic first single “Jump,” produced with Diplo, as well as the dynamic new track “Go,” co-written by Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
This week’s new releases also feature RAYE, whose latest ballad “Nightingale Lane” showcases her emotive vocal delivery. The track is part of her upcoming sophomore album, This Music May Contain Hope, and follows her global hit “Where Is My Husband!,” which reached No. 13 on the Hot 100.
Additional notable releases include Towa Bird’s grungy single “Gentleman,” British artist Elmiene’s two new tracks from his album Sounds for Someone—the smooth “Honour” and the midtempo plea “I Want In”—and Belgian pop star Angèle’s collaboration with French duo Justice on the funky bilingual track “What You Want.”
