Walton Goggins and Chloë Grace Moretz Team Up for Action-Comedy ‘Mister’ Shooting Next Month in Madrid
Walton Goggins to Star in Action-Comedy "Mister"
Walton Goggins, known for his role in The White Lotus, has been cast as the lead in the upcoming action-comedy film Mister, produced by Bright White Light and Thunder Road, the company behind the John Wick franchise. Acclaimed actress Chloë Grace Moretz, recognized for her performance in Kick-Ass, will co-star in the film.
This project marks the directorial debut of Wade Eastwood, a seasoned second unit and action director whose notable credits include Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and Jumanji: The Next Level.
Originally tapped for the lead role, Josh Brolin has had to withdraw from the film due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts. Filming is set to begin next month in Madrid.
Mister centers on a man (Goggins) who awakens in an unfamiliar house, blood-stained and confused about his identity. Amid fending off contract killers from his past, which include former partners and close friends, he must repair his strained relationship with his daughter (Moretz), who also finds herself embroiled in the family business.
Production will be led by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee for Thunder Road, alongside Goggins. Nicki Cortese, who co-wrote the script with Nick Inglis, will also produce with Wayne Marc Godfrey for Bright White Light, which is financing the film. Additional casting for the project is still underway.
The executive producer roster includes Chase Vergari, Ibrahim Mohammed, Eric Handler, Will Flynn, and Sophie Meyer, who will oversee the project for Bright White Light. International rights for the film are represented by Black Bear, while domestic rights are managed by CAA Media Finance.
The film boasts an accomplished crew, featuring Director of Photography Henry Braham, known for his work on Superman, and production designer Nigel Phelps, recognized for Thor: Love And Thunder.
Goggins, a notable actor also recognized for his roles in Justified and The Hateful Eight, recently received both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for The White Lotus and is expected to start filming the third season of Amazon’s Fallout later this year.
Moretz, celebrated for her roles in Kick-Ass and The Equalizer, will soon appear in the romantic comedy Love Language and the thriller The Edge Of Normal, which marks the first English-language feature from director Carlota Pereda. She has also recently returned to the stage in the off-Broadway play Caroline.
Wade Eastwood shared his enthusiasm for the cast, stating, “From our first conversations, I knew Walton would bring an unpredictable spark you simply can’t manufacture — he’s electric. Chloë brings an incredible mix of strength, vulnerability and razor-sharp timing. Together, they make Mister exactly what we set out to create: bold, funny and completely full-throttle.”
Goggins is represented by CAA and Darris Hatch Management, while Moretz is repped by CAA and Sloane, Offer.
