Walter Hamada Promotes Nick Romano to VP at 18Hz and Welcomes Ana Tenewitz as Creative Executive
EXCLUSIVE: Walter Hamada’s production company, 18Hz, has announced the promotion of Nick Romano to Vice President and the appointment of Ana Tenewitz as a Creative Executive.
Romano has been with 18Hz since its inception in 2023, serving as a Creative Executive. He is currently an executive producer on several upcoming projects, including Rodrigue Huart’s Suffer Little Children, Caye Casas’ Familiar, and Andrew Duplessie’s The Littles. Before joining 18Hz, Romano worked in development at New Line Cinema and started his career at ICM Partners on a motion picture lit desk. A graduate of Brooklyn College, he has also served on horror film juries for SXSW, Fantasia, and the Palm Springs ShortFest.
Tenewitz joins 18Hz from Imagine Entertainment, where she worked as a Development Coordinator to Features EVP Allan Mandelbaum. She began her career at Skybound Entertainment and has also held positions at Untitled Entertainment, Carol Mendelsohn Productions, and Prettybird. Tenewitz has produced award-winning short films showcased at various festivals nationwide. Originally from the Hudson Valley, NY, she earned a B.A. in Media Arts Production from Emerson College.

Hamada expressed enthusiasm for the new appointments, stating, “Nick is a true fan of horror and has been instrumental in the growth of 18Hz. His taste, relationships, and passion for the genre are incredible assets to the company, and I’m fortunate to have him on the team. Ana is a welcome addition and brings a fresh perspective to the company.”
Recently, Paramount Pictures renewed its multi-year production deal with Hamada’s 18Hz Productions.
The company’s next project, Primate, directed by Johannes Roberts, is set to hit theaters on January 9, 2026. The film, which world premiered at Fantastic Fest in September, follows a group of friends whose tropical vacation devolves into a horror-filled fight for survival after a pet chimp goes wild.
