Victoria Beckham Shares Cherished Moments with Her Sons During Brooklyn Beckham’s Challenges
Victoria Beckham recently shared a nostalgic moment from her family’s past involving her husband, David Beckham, and their three sons—Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz—amid current family tensions.
On January 22, photographer Platon Antoniou posted a collection of images from a family photoshoot in 2006 on Instagram. He recalled visiting Madrid to photograph David, who was then playing for Real Madrid and had already achieved global stardom. That day, Victoria brought along their three children: Brooklyn, then seven; Romeo, four; and Cruz, a baby.
Antoniou described a scene where Brooklyn and Romeo excitedly entered the studio in their football kits, engaging in playful antics with a ball. While Victoria juggled the children, he began his shoot with David. He witnessed a tender moment as Brooklyn hugged David’s leg, soon joined by Romeo and Victoria, who held baby Cruz. The family shared a private embrace amid the bustling set, a poignant display of affection in a world often overshadowed by celebrity pressures.
“To see this tenderness was very moving,” Antoniou reflected, noting that the family was not facing the camera during the embrace. He chose not to capture the moment, believing it would betray their trust. Instead, he observed silently, sparing a moment of intimacy for the family.
Afterward, he asked Victoria if they could recreate the embrace. She kindly declined, expressing her desire to be seen as a mother rather than a celebrity. “Thank you for not taking that picture earlier,” she said. “Today, I’m not here as a celebrity; I’m here as a mother.” However, she did suggest that David could pose for a shot facing away from the camera, leading to an emotional capture of him wearing his love for his family in the form of tattoos on his back.
Alongside his reflections, Antoniou shared a black-and-white photograph of David shirtless, highlighting the tattoos representing his children. He noted the beauty of searching for humanity through non-visible facial expressions, stating, “Family is everything. David Beckham, I salute you.”
Victoria’s comment on the post read, “Brings back great memories! ❤️.” This retrospective comes just days after Brooklyn publicly addressed his strained relationship with his parents, revealing in a social media statement that he does not wish to reconcile with them and detailing his struggles with anxiety throughout his life.
He described a newfound sense of peace since distancing himself from his family, emphasizing that he and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, value privacy and happiness over public perception. “My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation,” he stated.
