Swift has maintained a strong friendship with the Bryant family over the years. In a notable moment during her 2015 concert, she surprised attendees by bringing out Vanessa’s late husband, Kobe Bryant.
Kobe Bryant, who tragically passed away alongside his daughter, Gianna, in January 2020, had previously praised Swift as an artist. He highlighted the importance of acknowledging individuals who achieve great success, stating, “You can’t have that level of consistent success and not be a killer. It’s impossible.”

Natalia, aged 22, shared a TikTok video lip-syncing to Swift’s song “Nothing New (Taylor’s Version)” with friends, which garnered a like from Swift.
In October, Vanessa spoke about her book *Mamba & Mambacita Forever*, which pays tribute to her late husband and daughter. She acknowledged the emotional difficulty of creating the book, stating, “As difficult as it was to work on this book due to the painful reminder it represents, I’m glad I did it.”
Vanessa also addressed the murals created in honor of Kobe and Gianna, noting that while beautiful, many are outdoor installations that are subject to fading and damage due to the elements. “I wanted to make sure we preserved them,” she explained.
