Two People Taken into Custody After Stabbing Incident in Oxnard
Oxnard Police Arrest Two in Connection with Stabbing Incident
OXNARD, Calif. – Two men are in police custody following a stabbing incident that left a 22-year-old victim hospitalized with serious injuries, according to local law enforcement.
The violence erupted on March 12, when the victim arrived at St. John’s Regional Medical Center’s emergency room with multiple stab wounds to his lower torso. His injuries required surgery, but they were reported as non-life-threatening.
The assault occurred in a parking lot in the 2000 block of East Pleasant Valley Road, where the victim reported being attacked by two individuals. Police quickly identified the suspects as 19-year-old Diego Arellano and 18-year-old Alexis Arellano.
Alexis Arellano was apprehended on March 13 after a brief foot chase in the 2600 block of El Dorado Avenue. Diego Arellano was arrested four days later, on March 17, in the 4700 block of Hamilton Avenue.
Both men face charges of assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injuries that necessitated surgery, and conspiracy.
As of now, authorities have not disclosed a motive for the attack, nor have they clarified any relationship between the suspects and the victim. Additionally, it remains uncertain whether the suspects are related.
The Oxnard Police Department continues to seek further information to aid in their ongoing investigation.
