Two Arrested for Selling Stolen Home Depot Tools at Southern California Swap Meet
Authorities Recover Over $600,000 Worth of Stolen Home Depot Tools
Authorities announced on Friday the arrest of two suspects involved in the trafficking of stolen tools from Home Depot stores throughout Southern California. This operation was revealed through collaborative efforts of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Southern Division’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force.
The suspects have been identified as individuals purchasing stolen tools, which were subsequently resold at a swap meet in Los Angeles County for profit. A search warrant executed at their residence led to the recovery of tools valued at more than $600,000.
The CHP emphasized its commitment to tackling organized retail theft in the region. “The CHP is committed to aggressively investigating organized retail crime activity in the Los Angeles region and throughout California,” the agency stated.
In a related context, a significant operation in August 2025 resulted in the arrest of fourteen individuals in what was described as the largest organized retail theft case in Home Depot’s history. Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko noted that the network’s leaders utilized wholesale and online businesses as fronts to disguise illicit earnings.
The ongoing investigation underscores the continued efforts of law enforcement to combat organized retail crime in Southern California.
