Tubi Introduces Two New Scripted Originals for Gen Z and Teams Up with Apple for Formula 1
Tubi is expanding its programming slate with the introduction of two scripted original series targeted at Gen Z audiences and a new partnership with Apple for alternative broadcasts of Formula 1 content.
These announcements were made during Tubi’s presentation at the NewFronts event in New York, which aims to engage potential advertisers.
The new series, Game On and Remember Me, are designed to resonate with younger viewers. Game On follows a high school gamer named Casey as she competes in her school’s inaugural esports tournament. Production is set to begin this month, featuring Sky Katz from Surviving Summer and Case Walker from The Other Two, along with voice actor Nolan North, known for his roles in the Uncharted and Assassin’s Creed franchises.
Remember Me, characterized as a “YA supernatural murder mystery,” recently completed production. The series stars Brec Bassinger from Final Destination Bloodlines and Charlie Gillespie from Sidelined 2: Intercepted.
Tubi is embracing a strategy focused on low-cost originals that leverage the social media presence of its talent, a method that proved successful in 2024 with the release of Sidelined: The QB and Me.
In addition to the original programming, Tubi’s collaboration with Apple TV will bring alternative broadcasts of selected Formula 1 races during the 2026 season. Apple recently acquired global rights to the Formula 1 racing series and is open to innovative partnerships with other platforms, having already collaborated with Netflix to enhance viewership.
The Formula 1 alternative broadcasts will include insights and analysis from creators who are experts in racing. Specific details about the featured races will be announced at a later date, according to Tubi.
Tubi also announced new creator-oriented sports initiatives, which will include original content from well-known YouTubers like Deestroying and Jesser.
As part of its advertising strategy, Tubi introduced new ad technologies at the NewFronts, such as a pause ad feature named Scene Sense, enhancements to its pause ads, and a new TV-to-mobile initiative called Connected Conversions.
