Travis Kelce Shares a Laugh About Taylor Swift During “New Heights” Podcast Incident
Travis Kelce Offers Insight into Relationship with Taylor Swift on Podcast
Travis Kelce provided fans a rare peek into his playful relationship with Taylor Swift during a recent episode of his podcast, "New Heights." The Kansas City Chiefs star experienced an amusing mishap when he broke his chair mid-conversation, eliciting laughter and surprise.
While chatting with his brother Jason during the February 3 episode, Travis joked about the potential scolding he might receive from Swift after the incident. His humorous comment highlighted their lighthearted dynamic, even as they try to keep their romance under wraps while preparing for their upcoming wedding.
In the podcast, Travis leaned back in his chair while laughing at a joke from Jason about "best in show" dogs. The chair cracked audibly, causing it to collapse and sending the NFL player tumbling to the floor.
"Oh shit!” Jason exclaimed, concerned for his brother. A visibly flustered Travis quickly reassured him, saying, “We’re good,” then added with a chuckle, “Taylor’s gonna kill me" in reference to the embarrassing moment.
This is not the first time Kelce has referenced a fear of receiving a talking-to from the pop superstar. Previously, during a January 21 episode of "New Heights," he missed a Swiftie Easter egg connected to her track "Wood," humorously admitting his confusion about a fan’s mention of a "New Heights of Man-Hoodie."
“I don’t know what the fuck that means, but she’s disappointed,” Jason remarked after the awkward moment, prompting Travis to echo his confusion. A producer eventually clarified the reference, explaining, “It’s a Life of a Showgirl reference, come on. ‘New Heights of manhood.’ It’s the time you were referenced in the album.”
As their banter continued, Travis acknowledged his shortcomings in catching such references, revealing, “I didn’t understand that. Taylor’s gonna kill me for not knowing that.” Both brothers agreed that their game of spotting Easter eggs in Swift’s lyrics needed improvement, a nod to the keen awareness of the singer’s devoted fanbase.
