Trader Joe’s Plans to Open New Store at Historic LA Landmark
Trader Joe’s Plans New Grocery Store at Historic Fox Venice Theater Site
LOS ANGELES – Trader Joe’s has submitted plans to the city of Los Angeles to open a grocery store at the location of the long-vacant Fox Venice Theater. This redevelopment could revive an iconic site that holds significant historical value.
The Fox Venice Theater, situated at 620 Lincoln Blvd., first opened its doors in 1951, operating for decades as a popular cinema before transitioning into a swap meet. For several years, the building has remained empty, raising concerns about its preservation.
If the city approves the proposed project, it would transform the historic structure into a bustling grocery retail space, bringing new life to the area.
Currently, the project is in its initial filing stage, and no opening date has been established. Before any construction can begin, developers will need to renovate the existing structure to comply with modern building codes and meet the specific requirements for a grocery store.
