Tracee Ellis Ross Partners with Fox Entertainment Studios
Tracee Ellis Ross is embarking on a new venture with Fox Entertainment Studios, entering into a comprehensive deal through her production company, Joy Mill Entertainment. This agreement includes a first-look deal for scripted projects and an overall deal for unscripted programming.
Previously, Ross held a scripted overall deal with ABC Signature, where she contributed significantly to projects like the Black-ish spinoff, Mixed-ish, which aired for two seasons on ABC. In her new role, Ross will serve as an executive producer on a diverse slate of projects that spans comedy, drama, animation, and reality shows. She will collaborate closely with Adriana Ambriz, the Head of Development at Joy Mill.
Fox Entertainment Studios is expanding its roster with several notable partnerships, including those with Jeffrey Levine of Bronson Canyon Pictures, former HBO Films executive Maria Zuckerman, and personalities such as Taraji P. Henson, Bill Burr, and Jamie Foxx.
Reflecting on this new chapter, Ross stated, “Joining the Fox Entertainment Studios family marks an exciting next chapter for Joy Mill Entertainment. At Joy Mill, our focus is in creating and producing entertaining, culture-bending stories centered around identity and joy, and from our earliest conversations with FOX, it was clear that they shared the same vision. I’m excited to collaborate with Hannah, Allison, Fernando Szew, Tomii Crump, and their incredible teams as we continue to expand our platform.”
Hannah Pillemer, Head of Scripted, and Allison Wallach, Head of Unscripted at Fox Entertainment Studios, praised Ross’s creative acumen, saying, “Tracee is a singular force, creative, purposeful and culturally undeniable. Her instincts, curiosity, and drive make her an exceptionally creative and prolific partner. We’re excited to team up with Tracee and Joy Mill Entertainment to create work that inspires, entertains and reflects the world through their distinctly authentic lens.”
Ross’s representation includes Artists First, UTA, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
