Tish Cyrus Shares Her Christmas Plans for a Unique Blended Family Celebration with Dominic Purcell

In the latest episode of the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast, Tish Cyrus discussed her holiday plans with her husband, actor Dominic Purcell.

As a blended family with nine children—five from Tish and four from Dominic—Tish expressed her excitement about their gathering. “The more the merrier—I just love everyone being together,” she affirmed, though she noted uncertainty about who would attend this Christmas.

“I absolutely love Christmas and love the holidays,” Tish remarked. “But it keeps looking different every year. It gets a little harder, I think, when the kids are older and everybody’s got different families they have to be with for the holidays.”

Tish reminisced about past Christmases, saying, “It was so much fun when the kids were little. Five kids and they’re all super young; it was just such a magical time. My mom was always with us, and it was just so great.” She acknowledged the challenges of coordinating the schedule this year, as it remains uncertain whether family members Brandi, Trace, and Braison will be available.

She mentioned, however, that both Miley and Noah will celebrate Christmas with them.

“It is always really, really tough for me. I really miss just everybody being together at once. But again, they have significant others now, and it’s kind of like this juggle,” Tish explained. “But definitely we all get together, whoever’s in town, and we cook together and have Christmas dinner and open presents, just like everyone else.”

She added humorously, “You know what makes it really great? Is getting stoned.”

During the podcast, Tish addressed a listener’s question regarding who should avoid the kitchen during the holidays due to past cooking disasters. “That would be Miley,” she replied.

Tish recounted one alarming Christmas when Miley nearly severed her finger using a hand-held mixer while preparing homemade cauliflower mash. “Blood was going everywhere, and I mean everywhere,” she described, noting the chaos that ensued as they rushed to the emergency room.

“They had to sew it back on. And my mother, who insists everyone looks great at all times, asked, ‘Miley, aren’t you going to put any makeup on?'” Tish recalled, prompting laughter as Miley replied, ‘No, Mammie. My finger’s falling off. I am not going to put any makeup on.’ So, we spent that Christmas in the emergency room, getting Miley’s finger literally sewn back on.”
