Nicole Kidman Faced the Flu While Filming a Scene for ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles,’ Nick Offerman Shares Her Amazing Dedication
Nicole Kidman recently demonstrated her commitment to her craft during a guest appearance on the show Margo’s Got Money Troubles. Despite battling the flu, she managed to deliver a standout performance as wrestler Lace.
Her co-star Nick Offerman praised her determination, highlighting the challenges faced during filming a significant scene featuring a wrestling fan convention filled with hundreds of extras. “We’re there in the morning, we’re getting warmed up — some of us are going to be performing some actual wrestling, and we have our doubles, people we’re working with,” Offerman explained to People. “The word comes in that Nicole has the flu, and we might not get Nicole today. And we’re like, ‘Oh no, that’s such a bummer, because we only have the one day that we’ve built this whole circus for.’”
Offerman recalled receiving the update early in the morning, noting, “About 11:00 a.m., the word comes in: Nicole’s coming.”
When Kidman arrived, Offerman remarked that she was “so sick,” describing her as “pale” and “shaken.” Nevertheless, she powered through, ensuring that every shot needed for her character was captured. “She showed up and made sure that we got every shot of her, total superhero style, did everything we needed to so that we did not lose one scrap of what we needed for her character,” he added.

After filming wrapped, Offerman noted that Kidman was taken to the hospital for an IV. He expressed his admiration for her dedication, stating, “I already admired you so much, but this is how you get to be Nicole Kidman, is you show up so that your show doesn’t lose a minute of your value. It was so generous. It was astonishing.”
Offerman reflected on Kidman’s willingness to tackle the complex role of a lawyer who also wrestles, emphasizing her commitment and skill. “She embraced it. She [said], ‘Okay. Can I jump in the ring and actually wrestle?’ And she was fantastic in it. She was believable in the ring, and she was believable as a lawyer. So there’s a reason she gets all those job opportunities. She’s pretty good at her craft.”
Based on Rufi Thorpe’s 2024 novel, new episodes of Margo’s Got Money Troubles are released Wednesdays on Apple TV+.
