Thieves Steal Truck to Target The RealReal in West Hollywood
Smash-and-Grab Burglary Targets Luxury Store in West Hollywood
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – A daring smash-and-grab burglary occurred in the early hours of Friday morning at The RealReal, located on West Melrose Avenue. Around 1:30 a.m., a group of at least nine suspects executed a coordinated break-in using a stolen GMC Sierra truck.
According to investigators, the thieves rammed the truck into the storefront before swiftly entering the luxury consignment retailer to steal high-end merchandise. Witnesses reported that the suspects were dressed in black clothing and wore face coverings, and they escaped in multiple getaway vehicles.
Authorities have confirmed that the crime was executed rapidly, with the suspects reportedly in and out of the store within moments as alarms activated. Following the incident, West Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies cordoned off the area as they conducted a thorough investigation.
Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the vicinity to assess whether this incident is connected to a series of recent burglaries along Melrose Avenue. The scene remained active on Friday morning, with law enforcement focusing on gathering evidence and tracking suspect movements.
As of now, no arrests have been made in relation to this burglary, and officials have not disclosed the total value of the stolen merchandise. Investigators are also examining potential links to other recent smash-and-grab incidents that occurred closer to the Fairfax District, where multiple businesses were targeted just days prior.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to gather information on the suspects and their activities before and after the burglary.
