The Running Man Arrives on Paramount+ This Week
Glen Powell stars in *The Running Man*, set to make its streaming debut on Paramount+ this week. The film, directed by Edgar Wright, is based on Stephen King’s 1982 dystopian novel and will be available for viewers in the U.S. and Canada starting Tuesday, January 13. International release dates are yet to be announced.
*The Running Man* depicts a grim near-future where Powell plays Ben Richards, a working-class man struggling to afford his daughter’s medication. Facing blacklisting from employment opportunities, he is forced to enter a government-sanctioned reality show, where he must evade a nationwide manhunt to claim a billion-dollar prize.
The film boasts a star-studded cast, including William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson, Katy O’Brian, Martin Herlihy, Sean Hayes, Colman Domingo, and Josh Brolin.
Penned by Michael Bacall and Edgar Wright, the film’s production team includes Simon Kinberg, Nira Park, and Edgar Wright himself. Executive producers are George Linder, James Biddle, Rachael Prior, Audrey Chon, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, and Andrew Lary.
The streaming release of *The Running Man* follows its theatrical premiere in IMAX on November 14.
