AMC+ and Shudder Announce Premiere Date for The Terror: Devil in Silver
AMC+ and Shudder have confirmed that The Terror: Devil in Silver, the latest installment in the acclaimed anthology series, will debut on Thursday, May 7. The series, featuring Dan Stevens, known for his role in Downton Abbey, will release new episodes weekly.
This six-episode limited series is inspired by Victor LaValle’s novel The Changeling. It brings together prominent figures in the industry, including executive producers Ridley Scott, writers and showrunners Chris Cantwell and LaValle, and Emmy nominee Karyn Kusama, who directs the first two episodes. The series will also air on AMC later this year.
In Devil in Silver, Stevens portrays Pepper, a working-class mover who finds himself unjustly committed to the New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital. Within its walls, he encounters a range of challenges, from fellow patients conspiring against him to doctors hiding dark truths. As he navigates this harrowing environment, Pepper is forced to confront both the external horrors and the internal demons that threaten his very sanity.
Alongside Stevens, the cast includes notable actors Judith Light, CCH Pounder, Aasif Mandvi, John Benjamin Hickey, Stephen Root, Michael Aronov, Marin Ireland, Chinaza Uche, Hampton Fluker, and Philip Ettinger.
The Terror: Devil in Silver is produced by Scott Free Productions, with key contributions from Alexandra Milchan, Guymon Casady, and Brooke Kennedy, alongside the creative team of Cantwell, LaValle, Kusama, and Stevens.
This new chapter follows previous seasons of The Terror, which notably featured a British naval expedition trapped in ice while searching for the Northwest Passage and a terrifying shape-shifting presence in a Japanese internment camp during World War II. Both prior seasons are currently available for streaming on AMC+ and Shudder.
