The New Trailer for ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping’ Introduces Joseph Zada and Whitney Peak to the Franchise
The first official trailer for The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping has been released, generating excitement among fans of the franchise.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, this latest installment revisits the dystopian world of Panem, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy, portrayed by Joseph Zada. Set 24 years prior to the original Hunger Games series, the film begins on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.
Lawrence helms the film, which was scripted by Billy Ray and produced by Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, and Lawrence himself.
The ensemble cast features notable actors including Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, McKenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak, and Kelvin Harrison Jr.
Sunrise on the Reaping is scheduled for release on November 20.
The Hunger Games franchise comprises five novels that have collectively sold over 100 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 52 languages. The film series has been a significant financial success, grossing more than $3.4 billion at the global box office across five movies.
Furthermore, Sunrise on the Reaping had an impressive launch, selling over 1.5 million copies in its first week. This marks the largest debut for any title in Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games series. In the U.S. alone, the book sold 1.2 million copies, more than doubling the opening sales of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and tripling those of Mockingjay.
