THC, INC Launches Exciting Documentary and Streaming Platform on 4/20
Documentary Explores the Complexities of Cannabis on 4/20
On April 20, a date celebrated by marijuana enthusiasts, the Documentary+ streaming platform is set to release THC, INC, a provocative film that challenges the prevailing perceptions of cannabis culture. The documentary delves into the targeting of youth, the rise of high-potency products, and the broader health implications arising from marijuana legalization.
Directed by Eric Burton and Jesse Russell, THC, INC features insights from experts, including Dr. Kevin A. Sabet, a scholar of drug policy who previously advised the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, and Laura Bianchi, an attorney renowned for her expertise in cannabis law and the legal marijuana industry.
“At a moment when cannabis has transformed into a multi-billion-dollar industry, the film takes a critical look at rising potency levels, shifting regulations, and increasingly sophisticated marketing tactics—particularly those impacting younger audiences,” according to a press release. The film aims to examine how evolving cannabis laws are reshaping access, perception, and risk for a new generation.
Geoff Clark, CEO of Documentary+, expressed enthusiasm about the film’s release on this significant date. “THC, INC is exactly the kind of bold, culturally relevant storytelling we’re building Documentary+ around. Releasing the film on 4/20 is intentional—it invites audiences to look beyond the celebration and engage with the deeper realities shaping the cannabis industry today. This is a conversation that feels both urgent and necessary.”
The documentary will be available for streaming across all Documentary+ platforms, including FAST channels. Produced by Wayfarer Studios, known for its award-winning fiction and nonfiction projects, THC, INC joins a portfolio that includes the Oscar-shortlisted Will & Harper, among others.
Reflecting on the film’s objectives, Dr. Sabet remarked on X, “This groundbreaking documentary—which I produced—will expose Big Marijuana and shed light on the damage the industry has done to families all over the country.”
As a Doc+ Original, THC, INC is part of a lineup that showcases premium documentary premieres from both emerging voices and acclaimed filmmakers. Other titles available on Documentary+ include Still Single, The Power of Pickleball, and Oscar-shortlisted A Swim Lesson, among others.
