Teyana Taylor Clarifies Viral Moment with DiCaprio at 2026 Golden Globes
In a recent update, Teyana Taylor revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio was not directing his animated conversation towards her during a viral moment at the 2026 Golden Globes. The clip, which captured DiCaprio engaging in a lively exchange across the table, sparked widespread interest following the awards ceremony.
During her appearance on The Tonight Show on January 14, Taylor, 35, discussed her experience after winning her first Golden Globe for her role in One Battle After Another. She stated that many misinterpreted the interaction, which was widely shared on TikTok.
“Okay, so look, yesterday, I thought I broke the Da Vinci Code, right?” Taylor joked, referencing her earlier comments about their conversation during the awards show. She elaborated that the excitement stemmed from their discussions about the project KPop Demon Hunters, adding that they were "just jamming" and sharing animated expressions at the event.
Taylor noted that her two daughters, fans of KPop Demon Hunters, were thrilled when the animated film won two awards—Best Motion Picture (Animated) and Best Original Song. Her enthusiasm was evident as she celebrated the film’s successes with DiCaprio.

The viral clip showcased DiCaprio’s expressive demeanor, providing a contrast to his typically reserved public persona. Taylor later mentioned how she playfully questioned DiCaprio about his animated gestures with others that night. “I was like, ‘Who else are you chewing your invisible gum with?’” she recalled, highlighting their long-standing friendship.
Both Taylor and DiCaprio received acclaim for One Battle After Another, which won four Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy), and shouldering six nominations at the upcoming 2026 Actor Awards on March 1.
As their collaboration continues to garner accolades, fans and followers are left eagerly anticipating what’s next for both stars.
