Tennis Drama ‘Wildcard’ Features Andrea Londo, David Arquette, James Le Gros, and Jeremy Gimenez at EFM
Andrea Londo Stars in Indie Drama ‘Wildcard’
In a promising depiction of personal struggle and resilience, Andrea Londo, known for her role in Narcos, leads the cast of Wildcard, a newly completed independent drama. Joining her are well-known actors David Arquette (Scream), James Le Gros (Drugstore Cowboy), and Jeremy Gimenez (So Help Me Todd).
The film, which marks Greg Bekkers’ directorial debut, tells the story of Isabel Collins, portrayed by Londo. A former tennis prodigy navigating life after rehab, Isabel works to reclaim her identity amid fractured family relationships, unresolved trauma, and the persistent allure of addiction. She returns to her childhood home near the U.S.-Mexico border, prompting a confrontation with her past.
Sales firm Mavryk is set to present Wildcard at the upcoming European Film Market, aiming to find international distribution for the film.
Bekkers and Londo are producing Wildcard under their Two Lands Films banner, collaborating with Hugo Martin Del Campo and Citlali Vasquez of the Mexican production company Casa Ajena. The film’s casting was managed by Steven Siebert, and the screenplay was written by Jamie Lincoln.
In supporting roles, Arquette plays a charming yet destabilizing figure in Isabel’s life, while Le Gros takes on the role of Isabel’s estranged father, whose shortcomings cast a long shadow on the family’s emotional landscape. Gimenez portrays Gabe, Isabel’s estranged half-brother and former coach, whose complex mix of loyalty and resentment drives the film’s central relationships.
The ensemble also features C.S. Lee (For All Mankind), Zak Steiner (Euphoria), Kym Jackson (We Bury the Dead), Vic Wolf, and Ava Hewitt. Juliana Ferreira plays Young Isabel, with Adam Perez Courtney as Young Gabe.
"Tennis was my life for over 20 years, and I wanted to tell a story that reveals its grittier side," Bekkers noted. "It was important to me that our actors truly played tennis. Both Andrea Londo and Jeremy Gimenez have played at a high level, adding an exciting authenticity to the film," he added. "Wildcard is built entirely around Isabel’s interior life, and Andrea understood that from day one. Her discipline, both as an actor and as an athlete, is what anchors the film. We were fortunate as well to be surrounded by a stellar supporting cast."
