Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Miss Met Gala 2026 Red Carpet Before Their Wedding
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Skip 2026 Met Gala
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were notably absent from the 2026 Met Gala held on May 4 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The couple’s decision to forgo the iconic red carpet marks a significant moment since Swift, 36, has attended the event multiple times over the past decade.
Swift made her Met Gala debut in 2008, captivating attendees with a gold beaded dress by Badgley Mischka. Throughout the years, she has embraced various themes, including a striking Louis Vuitton mini dress at the 2016 Gala, where she served as co-chair. Kelce, also 36, has yet to make an appearance at the prestigious event.
While Swift and Kelce have been together since 2023, their absence from this year’s Met Gala would have highlighted their first public red carpet appearance as a couple. The two shared the news of their engagement through social media in August, with Swift’s playful Instagram caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” accompanied by images of Kelce proposing.
As their wedding plans take shape, a source revealed that the couple intends to invite about 150 guests to their nuptials. “It won’t be a huge wedding, but there will be many celebrities,” the insider said. Another source added that the couple is currently considering a smaller, more intimate event compared to earlier plans for a larger celebration. Despite not sending formal invitations, close friends and family are already informed about the venue and the date for the wedding.
With both stars focused on their upcoming marriage, their absence from this year’s Met Gala underscores a shift in priorities as they prepare to embark on this new chapter together.
