Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried’s ‘The Housemaid’ Is Coming to Starz—Here’s When to Watch!
Paul Feig’s highest-grossing film, The Housemaid, is set to begin streaming on Starz starting April 1, following a successful theatrical release. The film became available on premium digital and video on demand platforms on February 3, just 46 days after its premiere on December 19.
Featuring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, this adaptation of Freida McFadden’s best-selling novel will be available on the Starz app and across all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms.
In this psychological thriller, directed by Feig, the narrative unfolds in a world where perfection is deceptive. Millie, portrayed by Sweeney, seeks to escape her troubled past by accepting a position as a live-in housemaid for the affluent Nina Winchester, played by Seyfried. What begins as a chance for a new life transforms into a perilous game of secrets, manipulation, and ever-changing power dynamics. The intricacies of the Winchester home are woven with shocking twists that keep viewers engaged until the very end.
Joining Sweeney and Seyfried in the film are Brandon Sklenar (It Ends With Us, 1923), Michele Morrone (Another Simple Favor, Subservience), and Elizabeth Perkins (This is Us, Weeds).
Since its release, The Housemaid has outperformed Feig’s previous hit, Bridesmaids, and has grossed over $394 million worldwide. In light of this success, Lionsgate has already approved a sequel, The Housemaid’s Secret, which is expected to begin production in 2026. Sweeney is anticipated to return as both a star and executive producer, with co-star Michele Morrone also looking to reprise his role. Feig is likely to direct from a script penned by Rebecca Sonnenshine, who adapted the first film.
As The Housemaid joins the growing film lineup on Starz, it will be featured alongside other titles like Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, Good Fortune, and The Long Walk, as well as the final season of Outlander, which continues to release episodes every Friday throughout the month.
