In recent developments, a user on X uploaded clips of the unreleased film, asserting that the material was “accidentally emailed” by someone within Nickelodeon. This user expressed frustration over Paramount’s decision to bypass a theatrical release in favor of streaming, threatening to release the entire film if a trailer for Legend of Aang was not provided.
Despite the posts receiving copyright notices, the film has already gained significant online traction, with multiple users sharing it further.
Following the leak, animator Julia Schoel, who contributed to the film, voiced her frustration on X, stating, “We worked on the aang movie for years with the expectation that we’d get to celebrate all of our hard work in theaters, just to see people unceremoniously leak the film and pass our shots around on Twitter like candy.”
Schoel criticized what she called “Paramount’s awful decision to remove the movie from theaters to justify leaking it,” calling it “disrespectful to all the hard work the artists put in.”
The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender features a voice cast that includes Dave Bautista, Eric Nam, Jessica Matten, Dionne Quan, Román Zaragoza, Steven Yeun, Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Dee Bradley Baker, Freida Pinto, and Ke Huy Quan.
