United Talent Agency Signs Cypriot Filmmaker Myrsini Aristidou
United Talent Agency (UTA) has announced the signing of Myrsini Aristidou, a filmmaker from Cyprus, for representation across all fields.
Aristidou, born and raised in Limassol, Cyprus, made her mark with her debut feature film, Hold Onto Me (Κράτα Με), which premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. The film, which debuted in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition, received the Audience Award, highlighting its impact among viewers.
This co-production between Cyprus, Greece, and Denmark, with participation from the U.S., centers on a determined young girl who seeks to reconnect with her estranged father, who unexpectedly reappears during one summer.
Aristidou holds an MFA in Film Directing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and a BFA in Film and Art History from Pratt Institute. Her short film, Semele (2015), debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival and has since been showcased at seventy festivals worldwide, securing the Special Jury Prize in the Generation Kplus section at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2016.
Her subsequent short, Aria (2017), produced with the backing of Spike Lee, Canal+ France, and CNC, premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and later screened at Sundance. Beyond filmmaking, Aristidou is the founder of One Six One Films and the co-founder of the Sagapo Children’s Foundation.
